Dr. Clark, ENT and Allergy Doctor in Venice FL

Allergies are not fun.

We know you are suffering from your allergies.  Maybe you are not even sure if you have allergies.  We welcome you to come see Dr. Clark, your ENT Allergy Doctor in  Venice FL, and get skin allergy testing for our local pollens and allergens.  We test 22 sites (plus 2 control sites) with over 41 antigens.  Most insurances cover the test but you can pay cash for $150.  We then send the results and prescription off to Allergy Choices Pharmacy and they will send your sublingual drops directly to your door.  Testing is once a year and the prescription is handled by Allergy Choices.  You will get a 3-month supply of drops at a times for $149.  This is not covered by insurance.  Although shots are covered by some insurances, you also have to make weekly and sometimes biweekly trips to your doctor's office.  Your time and gas may be worth the $50 of relief a month.  Both shots and drops work the same way by desensitizing your body to the things you are allergic to.  Both programs will give you more permanent relief over time.  Check out our allergy choice program.  please note that for testing you must be off of allergy medications 1 week before testing.

Symptoms of Seasonal Allergies

You may be wondering if you have allergies.  Common symptoms include: runny nose, itchy, red and watery eyes, throat soreness or hoarseness, post nasal drip, dry unproductive cough, and overall tiredness.  You be experiencing general inflammation as well.  When you come in for evaluation we will also look to see if you are having symptoms of chronic sinus issues, reflux and other things that can also cause some of those symptoms.

Try before you buy :)  I know our schedule is booked out and you may want to try a few things at home that may help with the symptoms in the meanwhile.

Over the counter Allergy medications.  Mild symptoms to grass may be helped with Claritin, with pets and plants and mosquito bites try Zyrtec or Xyzal.  Feeling really bad try Allegra.  Sometimes people need to rotate the drug they are taking so the body can work a little differently at giving you relief.

Rinse out those sinuses!  If you have never done so cleaning your nasal passage out with some good old saline may do the trick.  We like the NeilMed sinus rinse bottle.  You can get a beginner's kit with the bottle and the salt packets.  Please use distilled water as tap water can sometimes contain bacteria that will make the problem worse.  You can download our free patient information sheet.
